The greatest weekend of my life as a fan of comics, as a writer, and as a human being. Casey Dion, my brother Josh, and I got to meet so many of our favorite creators and had the supreme honor of finding out that not only that they were wonderful writers and artists but amazing people too. Everyone Casey and I asked for advice on the subject of making comics was so kind and patient with us, and so supportive. I can't not make comics now. I've been writing at an amazing clip since the end of the show on Sunday. Look forward to a bunch of art posts and other things on this deviant art and all over the place as we head towards the end of the year.
But here's a list of all the amazing people we met:
Scott Kollins, Sean Gordon Murphy, Kieron Gillen, Jason Aaron, Cliff Chiang, Brian Azzarello, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb, Tim Sale, Francis Manapul, Todd Nauck, Andy Lanning, Greg Cappullo, Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Alex Maleev, Brian Wood, Becky Cloonan, Greg Rucka, Chuck BB, Rick Spears, Brian Clevinger, Scott Wegner, J.G. Jones, Frank Quitely, Chris Burnham, Joe Casey, Mike Norton, Nathan Fox, Jason Latour, Jimmy Palmiotti, Paul Levitz, Walter Simonson, Louise Simonson, Art Baltazaar, Franco, John Siuntres, The Ifanboy guys, Dennis Hopeless, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting.
Just having all those people be kind, supportive, and genuinely encouraging it reminded me of how much I want to make comics. How willing I am to fight for it. The world's going to have to look out for me, for Casey (who had a fucking blast too), and for everyone at Ace Rocketman Comics because we're going hard.
